Phuket

Hola soy yo, Willy Fog, viaja que te viaja. Esta vez mi parada ha sido en Phuket. Unos amigos nuestros celebraban su 25 aniversario de bodas y pensaron celebrarlo de alguna manera especial. Otra pareja recomendó Phuket, en Thailandia y allá que nos fuimos. En total fuimos ocho. Y las vacaciones de cinco días en Phuket resultarion geniales. El hotel increible, por el precio ofrecen habitaciones exquisitas y un servicio que muchos hoteles de cinco estrellas quisieran tener.

Pues Phuket me pareció como la Costa del Sol asiatica. Todo lleno de bares y mercadillos. Pero con una diferencia: todo mucho mas barato, por todos los sitios te dan masajes increibles y los que quieran chicas pues hay donde elegir. Ahora mismo es temporada baja allí (estamos empezando la estación lluviosa) asique no nos encontramos con todo el abarrotamiento de turistas. Alquilamos motos y nos fuimos con la melena al viento a pasear. Y como en nuestra querida Costa del Sol, puedes encontrarte lo peor de lo peor del turismo y, si eres valiente y sales a explorar, puedes encontrar también rincones y gentes maravillosas.

Cuando llevas un tiempo en la India de repente aprecias detalles que antes ni considerabas: lo primero fue al llegar y ver el aeropuerto y decir: ooooohhhhh un aeropuerto de verdad!!!! Luego al ver la carretera: oooohhhhhh tienen carreteras de verdad, sin baches donde en temporada de lluvia puedes entrenar en natación, sin camiones y coches que rezas para que no se desintegren justo delante de ti, sin vacas, perros, gallinas, etc cruzando, sin millones de gente a cada lado y cruzando cuando deciden que ahora quiero cruzar... Madre mia! Yo creo que cuando llegue a Europa me van a tener que poner una pastilla debajo de la lengua para recuperarme de la impresion!

En estas vacaciones solo puedo decir que disfrutamos muchísimos del sitio, de los mercadillos, de la gente estupenda, de los masajes y de una comida incredible… Thailandia nos ha fascinado y volveremos ;-)

Hi! This is me, Willy Fog. I wanted to tell you about our next stop during the journey: Phuket, Thailand. Our friends wanted to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary in a special way and we all followed the advice we’ve got: Phuket. The five days we spent there were really fun and the hotel was great! I think many 5star hotels would wish to have those rooms and that level of service.

When I first saw Phuket I thought of Costa del Sol in Spain: tourists, tourists and tourists. The difference is that everything is cheaper; you find great massages everywhere, great food, fun people and of course it’s Thailand. We also rented some scooters to cruise around ;-) But right now there aren’t so many tourists because it’s thr low season (rainy season). And like in our Costa del Sol you can find the worst of the worst of the tourism or if you explore a little bit and find amazing places and people.

When you have been long enough in India you start to pay attention to some details that weren’t so important before. The first we saw was the airport: oooooooohhhhh a real airport!!!! Then we saw the roads: ooooooohhhh real roads without holes like wells, without cars and trucks so old that you just close your eyes to avoid seeing them disintegrating just in front of you, without cows, dogs, chickens, etc, without one million people on the side that will cross to the other side when they feel like it… My god! I think they’ll have to give me the heart attack pill when I get back Europe to recover from the shock!

Anyway, this was a really fun holiday, we enjoyed the shopping and the rides, we enjoyed the people, we enjoyed the food, we enjoyed the massages… Thailand is fascinating and we’ll go back!
