Felix

Our son Felix finally arrived to this world. A little bit too early and we really needed the precious time to fix several things, but he decided it was time to arrive.

Mikkel came back home Saturday afternoon. It was so great to have him back. We talked a lot about the things that I’ve been doing here, all the things that happened during his visit in Bangalore and all the things that we had to fix during that week. We went to sleep but I couldn’t sleep very deep. Around 5am that Sunday the labor started. We spent the next day trying to figure out what it will happen. Finally the contractions started to be regular around nine thirty in the evening and a bit later we left for the hospital. Then everything happened very fast, especially for me as I lost the sense of time. He arrived at 03:26 the 4th of Feb after a natural birth and it was the biggest and the most intense experience of my life.

Now after two weeks I might look a bit different: TIRED! We definitely underestimate how much work is to take care of a new born. In the beginning it was a little frustrated because I didn’t get any milk. He was quite mad. Now I’m having milk but my body doesn’t have time to recover after each feed as he’s asking for food all the time. All I do is sit and breastfeed. Then we have the “burp break" and the nappy break. Then we start all over again. And he doesn’t want to sleep. He falls asleep in our arms but as soon as we put him down he starts to cry and he asks for food again. And that’s for hours and hours, including nights! We just sit and look to each other and hope this won’t last too long. As far as we understood this is very common for newborns in the first 4 to 6 weeks. On the other side, you feel so much tenderness for this little person that you keep going even when you would prefer to run away!

I’ll try to keep writing some more posts. I posted some pictures and slowly I’ll add some more. We’ll survive somehow!

Y encima no quiere dormir.

He puesto algunas fotos y poco a poco iré añadiendo más. De alguna manera sobreviviremos!

Back in Copenhagen / De vuelta en Copenhague

Por fin me he puesto a escribir! No he desaparecido!

Os he conocido?

Gracias a Bangalore, India.

Finally I’m writing on this blog! I’m still alive! I’ve been here for more than three weeks but you can imagine how fast time has gone. Everything has been an emotional rollercoaster.

When we arrived here I felt a slap of cold weather in the face, I felt somebody has turned off the lights of the sky and I felt like our apartment was too empty and old. Well, I was supposed to know that but somehow you see those things when you come back after some time. Before we left to Bangalore we threw away some stuff (it was too old) and we thought we would have time to shop when we came back. But we never thought we were almost three now! So without loosing any time we hurried to the place where in Europe is consider the “joker” of the furniture stores when you are in a hurry or when you never find the time to look somewhere else: Ikea. Yes, all my blessings to Ikea. We bought some stuff but the apartment is still half empty. When Mikkel is back we have to take a look to the storage.

But I was not quite happy yet and I decided that we needed to repaint the place. I spent several days painting and painting. Mikkel helped me but only until he had to come back to Bangalore. His contract was until the 31st of Jan and he had to finish things there. I’ve been alone during two weeks and even when I tried to keep busy I missed him a lot. And nobody is around during the day. I don’t know many people here but those I know are at work, so I have to wait until 5pm if I want to meet somebody. Thad made me a little sad, too.

I have to apologize with many of you because I haven’t replied to your emails. I really appreciated all of them. But with all those emotions going around me I haven’t felt strong enough to write. Also the weather has been an issue. As I mentioned before, I think somebody switched off the lights of the sky and it’s dark in here. It rains and it’s windy. And of course don’t forget the pregnant belly I’m carrying around. I feel really good, I can’t complain. But you get easier tired and you can’t start anything yet because soon I have to deliver. All those emotions put together made me feel like I was numb, not knowing what to do. And when I thought of all of you I met in Bangalore it was like in a dream. Was I really there? Did I really meet you? But slowly I start to react. Nothing like a day spent with tears to empty the body of any tension and see things much more clear.

Thank you to all of you in Bangalore, thank you for the good times we spent together. Thank you for your friendship and your support. We’ve made great friends and I hope we can meet someday. I’m just writing about this and a wave of feelings is coming to my body.

Thank you Bangalore, India. Thank you for the lessons you have taught me. Thank you for the world of energy and vibrations you opened in front of my eyes. Thank you for showing me a world that it’s not a dream, it’s real and it made a huge impression in my heart.

And also thank you for the people here in Copenhagen. Thank you for your welcome and for making me feel less confused during this time.
