Cristina+Mikkel+1

I’m 10 weeks pregnant now and everything is fine. I’ll keep you posted about the development. Before you all ask, I won’t be able to know the sex of the baby until the birth. It is not allowed in India to disclose it due to the high amount of baby girl abortion. I’ll write a little more about this in case you are interested. So any name suggestions? Hehe…

Hehe...

ILoveChueca

The news that we are hearing at the moment everywhere in Spain is the Europride. Madrid, well especially its neighborhood Chueca is celebrating almost 24h this event and there is more to come in its climax this Saturday with the main Parade. Well, I was watching all these happy news when I suddenly heard something which my innocent mind would have never guessed: Tinky-Winky is gay!!! Yes, you’ve understood it correctly, one of the Teletubbies is a homosexual. How do they know? Of course, just open your eyes and you’ll notice that Tinky-Winky carries very often his purse… Oh god! How could I have been so blind!!! But wait a minute, how about our childhood? Did I miss something? Is there so many "weird" people out there today because they have an unresolved childhood trauma because they showed inexplicit gay cartoon characters? Hmmm… It feel it must have been something else, don’t you think? Maybe human nature? or genetic? I just can’t believe that Tinky-Winky is promoting any behavior in small children today… Maybe just a little intellectual stagnation, but that’s all…

On Tour/De Gira

Here we are in this Europe of ours, some of you know that I’m traveling to Europe, some of you are meeting me here and I guess some people out there don’t care much about where I am. But honestly I like the idea that somebody must be missing me and somebody is enjoying meeting me here.

Well, the good news is: I was ok and I didn’t need to take to the ER due to the shock to be back in the civilization. I guess one can adapt very fast to the well known habits. I only was a bit annoyed in the beginning due to the chill temperatures. I also thought the streets were empty, even in rush hour, but obviously that was only my temporary perception of the world… Now it isn’t so chilly any more, the traffic in the city is still terrible and there are too many stressed people in the streets J The only thing that still impacts me is the grocery store with all those beautiful colors, the shiny lights, the tidy shelves with all those little things to take a look at and choose and if you come back the next day they are still there!!!! What a luxury for us!!! Oh yes! And since we came we haven’t experienced a single power cut and I haven’t seen a single guy urinating in the streets, Ole! But here I need to clarify that I haven’t gone out to the bars in the evening yet…

Long live the fat!/Arriba la lorza!

In our world we all have heard about the benefits of a balanced diet. The excess of weight is not only a problem of looking good, but also a health problem and it’s growing day by day. But what happens in other worlds like in India? Well, the problem is huge due to the lack of information in the society. Most of the meals are deep fried and added with oils, creams, butter… All what you can think that it’s not good for you but once in a while you say to yourself “this is not good for me, but damm it! it tastes good! Just this time!” So picture this in three meals a day. The Indian breakfast is not a bowl of cereal or some fruits. The Indian breakfast consists in a warm meal (I’ll write a post regarding the different meal types). Women get up very early and start cooking. Again a warm meal for lunch, usually cooked veggies soaked in oil and some bread or rice. Something very sweet and/or deep fried for dessert. The same for supper. People from the lower class usually keep the weight due to the hard physical jobs and the house duties (including washing the clothes by hand everyday) Many people from the medium and higher classes are overweight. And how would you dress if you had this problem? Would you find something in a dark color? Would you find something that makes you look smaller? Would you use clothing that is not too tight? Yes, right? It’s not the same story here in India. The ethnic dress is called Sari. It consists on a six meter long piece of fabric wrapped around you (I’ll also write more about this). It looks like a long skirt with the end crossed on your chest. Women won’t show the legs, the breasts must be covered with the sari and the shoulders must be also covered. And what if I have “floaties” around the waist? Nothing, just be happy. Take a look to the image to understand all this:
