Back to the Maldives! / De regreso a las Maldivas!

We have been back to the Maldives. It was our last vacation from Bangalore and it’s so easy to reach there from here: a direct flight for one and a half hour! This time we’ve been playing with our new underwater gadget and I wanted to show you a little bit of what you can find if you swim only 50m from the coast. Take a look to the pictures!


Hemos vuelto a las Maldivas. Han sido nuestras últimas vacaciones desde Bangalore y el viaje es tan fácil: solo un vuelo directo de una hora y media! Esta vez hemos estado probando el nuevo juguetito para hacer fotos dentro del agua y me gustaría enseñaros una pequeña muestra de lo que hay a tan solo 50m de la costa. Echad un vistazo a las fotos!

What should we pack? / Qué nos llevamos?

I’m having mixed feelings now, the night between the 4th and the 5th of January we’ll leave Bangalore. It’s better to start early so I already started to pack my stuff, sorting out things that I won’t need to bring back (due to my “heavy” condition I’m starting to feel much more like a whale in shallow water than a human! Mikkel will have to take care of a lot of packing!). 1000’s of small things multiplying themselves in closets, drawers… Again again we are moving. Since I moved from Spain it’s been already several times I had to pack and I had to say good bye to the friends that I’ve made. And Mikkel moved many more times in his life than I did. And somehow I still find it difficult. It’s nice to think that new changes are coming and that makes life challenging and interesting, but at the same time it’s always a little hard to leave a place where you have been happy. But this time the universe is helping us with the moving: many friends already moved before us and some other friends are busy leaving for Christmas. But the funny thing is that we are having some other problems like problems with the internet, the cooking gas, the car service, the maintenance office, etc, etc. We never had so many problems at once before but for some reason everything is coming this month. And for the people that lives/have lived in India knows that these kinds of problems can make you crazy here! Mikkel and I look each other and we both feel like some superior beings are telling us to run for our life! Don’t waste your time!

Tengo una mezcla de sentimientos con respecto a nuestra marcha de Bangalore. Nos iremos en la noche del 4 al 5 de enero. “Al que madruga dios le ayuda” asique yo ya he empezado a empacar mis cosas y a seleccionar lo que necesitaré y lo que no (hablo de mis cosas porque a causa de mi actual “estado”, más pesado del habitual, que me estoy empezando ya a sentir como una ballena varada, pues Mikkel se va a tener que hacer cargo de un montón de cosas). Aparecen cientos de cosas por armarios y cajones que parece que se multiplican… Si señores, otra mudanza nos ha tocado. Desde que me mudé de España ya me han tocado unas cuantas y a Mikkel muchas más que yo en su vida. Pero de alguna manera el irse de un sitio donde uno ha sido feliz siempre es algo difícil. Es bonito saber que llegan cambios que hacen que la vida sea un reto y más interesante, pero a la vez dejas muchos sentimientos en ese lugar. Pero esta vez el universo parece que está confabulando las circunstancias apropiadas para que sea más fácil el irnos: amigos que ya se han ido, otros que estan demasiado ocupados con los viajes correspondientes a “estas fechas”. Y lo gracioso es que también estamos teniendo problemas con internet, el gas de cocinar, el coche, la oficina de mantenimiento, etc etc. Nunca hemos tenido tantos problemas a la vez desde que hemos llegado y la gente que vive o que ha vivido en India sabe que estas cosas te pueden volver loca! Mikkel y yo nos miramos y pensamos que una fuerza superior está intentando decirnos: iros ya! Salvad vuestra vida! No desperdicieis ni un minuto!

Aurangabad+Mumbai

Finally I visited Aurangabad. Mikkel had to go there due to work and I went with him, I was very exited to visit the famous caves and I was not disappointed at all! We also spend one day in Mumbai and we had a great time! Something special to mention about this trip? Yes, there is: It’s not easy to be a tourist in India when you are 7 months pregnant! Well, first of all you are not so “mobile”, especially when you have to climb up and down stairs and hills and it’s 35 degrees. Then I’ve got really thirsty everyday, but you can’t drink too much because you’ll never know when you’ll find the next toilet! Then these taxis were at least fifty years old and they drive them in full speed on bumpy roads. Yes, I must admit I have been blessed with such a good pregnancy! This baby is going to cry a lot because he/she won’t be happy in the crib, I will have to find an old noisy car somewhere, drive on a bad road and the baby will sleep like an angel!

Finalmente he visitado Aurangabad. Mikkel ha tenido que ir por trabajo y yo me he apuntado alegremente. Ya tenía ganas de visitor las famosas cuevas y desde luego no me defraudaron! También hemos pasado un día en Mumbai y lo disfrutamos mucho. Algo en especial que mencionar sobre este viaje? Si: no es fácil ser un turista en India cuando se está embarazada de siete meses! Primero porque no ya no eres muy ”movible” que digamos, en especial cuando tienes que andar de arriba para abajo por escaleras y por la montaña y encima a 35 grados. Luego te quedas medio desidratada porque al beber mucho por la sencilla razón que no sabes cuando te vas a encontrar con un baño! Luego los taxis que cogimos que bueno, como minimo tienen 50 años y los conducen a toda velocidad por caminos llenos de baches. Si señores, tengo que admitir que mi embarazo está siendo de envidia. El bebé no va a dormir tranquilo en la cuna y voy a tener que encontrar un coche modelo “desguaze” y conducir por caminos de cabras y así el bebé se quedará dormido como un angelito!
